Tucker chose to watch America’s Test Kitchen over Sesame Street for his one show of the day. Normal?

Happy Easter!
To celebrate Easter this year, I decided to give my family the silent treatment. Literally. I completely lost my voice after a cold this week and by Saturday evening couldn’t say anything. Regardless, it was a beautiful (if quiet) day and we got to celebrate with all the grandparents. Tucker was so sweet with the Easter egg hunt and collected all of Molly’s eggs for
her… he let her half half the ones he found, without prompting. In fact, he left a lot out there at first so that once she figured it out, she could get them herself. The problem wasn’t necessarily that she didn’t figure out the egg hunt; the main issue was that she quickly discovered that a jelly bean was in each egg and once she had one egg in her hot little hands, the importance of everything else seemed to fade.

Orphan Socks
These are all the socks in Molly’s room that don’t have a pair… probably because Ben ate the other one and it’s out in the yard somewhere. (I’m not joking!)

My New Blog: Growingourgreenbeans.com
I’ve been working on a new blog called Growing Our Green Beans. I created it as an outlet to write on more topical environmental issues, without the fun but somewhat distracting kiddie quotes and pictures that I like to post here. I’m interested in pursuing freelance writing opportunities, and aim for the Greenbeans site to be part practice and part portfolio for future endeavors.
I’m going to continue to post here, but my energy will be mostly over at the other site for awhile, especially as it gets going. So check it out and spread the word if you know anyone interested in green living!!

Art Gallery Event
A brave local art gallery hosted a Saturday morning of free art activities for kids. It was the coolest event ever, with collage materials for a huge cardboard hippo they created, a mural covering almost an entire wall to paint on, and more. Tucker, my budding artist, could have stayed there all day. Molly preferred the juice boxes and the power she felt wielding a paint brush.
